Canadian adventure, minus the boys Question: I am curious if you know of any travel or tour companies that cater to women only in Canada? I’m interested in hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, and downhill skiing. I could also be tempted by more adventurous or extreme trips. I have heard of a company called “Call of the Wild” and it seems like the kind of company I’d be interested in going with. But do they or anyone else operate in Canada? Thanks. Both the June and September courses will be held in British Columbia’s Coast Mountains, north of Whistler, with an emphasis on backpacking, technical rock climbing, and day hiking. The nine-day skill trips cost $1,345 Outward Bound Ontario also offers three women’s courses in the wilderness north of Thunder Bay that focus on rock climbing, solo navigation, sea kayaking, and canoeing. You don’t need previous paddling experience, just a tolerance for sore shoulders (five to eight miles a day is standard), the occasional portage, and plenty of fresh air and solitude.
