The Barker Image:
The latest gear for dogs on the go
By day, Riley’s sporty Glow Dog Reflective Jacket is a sedate royal blue. By night, it glows an eerie white. What gives? The jacket has microscopic reflectors embedded in the fabric’s weave so
that even drivers with a bad case of night blindness can swerve before it’s too late. If your dog is prone to the chills, get him the fleece version ($30-$47, 888-456-9364).
Riley can pack in his own Power Bones with Wolf Packs’ new Saddle Bag for Working Dogs ($45, 541-482-7669). The thin, lightweight, adjustable one-size-only daypack, originally designed for seeing-eye and other assistance dogs,
comes in red, royal blue, and orange 鈥 shades to complement every canine coat.
Slightly resembling an oversize whoopee cushion, the Travel-N-Pet Travel Bed ($20-$22, 212-727-2390), an oval-shaped, inflatable Therm-A-Rest-for-dogs, comes in handy on nights when Riley’s had a few too many licks from the bottom of the refried bean bowl to let him sleep in the tent.
