Studying Koalas on Kangaroo Island
The Route: Track and observe koalas as they chew their way through the “Galapagos of Australia,” a wildlife haven ten miles south of Adelaide in the Southern Ocean. You’ll work for 11 days alongside an Aussie naturalist. When to go: Year-round Difficulty: Moderate Travel advisory: Low ozone levels in the upper atmosphere make ultraviolet radiation in this part of the world particularly intense.
